Creating your first Database
The information provided is for help with Commtest Instruments products:
The factory default database contains all the necessary information to begin setting up your machines.
- Click the Open button on the toolbar.
The following window will appear.
- Click the Create button in this new window. The Create or Overwrite Database dialog box will open.
- Accept the default name and location and click Save.
- You will now be prompted to install the factory default database. Click Yes to install this.
After a short time, a dialog box will appear asking you to plug in your vb instrument so that the Ascent software can communicate with it and find out its abilities.
- Connect the vb instrument to the computer, turn the instrument on then click OK. Follow the on-screen instructions.
- When prompted to enter a description of your instrument click Yes.
- Fill in the description field on the form that appears, leave the other fields as they are and click OK to finish.
