SYMPTOMS
The Word® button does not work in Ascent 8.00. I'm getting the following error message:
'Visual Basic environment could not be initialized. Please run setup'.
'The server threw an exception'.
CAUSE
There is a problem with the Visual Basic environment of your Word installation.
SOLUTION
You can solve this problem in one of two ways:
Upgrade for free to the latest Ascent software from our website download area.
OR
If you prefer to continue using Ascent 8.00 make sure you have plenty of free disk space and try re-installing Word/Office. Please refer to the following articles from the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
