'Invalid Sampling rate'

PROBLEM

When sending to the vb instrument this error message appears:

The schedule entry 'xxx' could not be sent to the vb: invalid sampling rate:

Also, when reviewing the parameter settings in the Ascent program, many of them are highlighted in red and no valid options are available in the drop-down boxes.

CAUSE

The Ascent software does not know what parameters are valid for that vb instrument. To put it another way, the software has 'lost' its knowledge of that vb instrument's capabilities.

SOLUTION

The solution is straight forward - get the software to 're-learn' what your instrument is capable of.

• From within the Ascent software, select Edit>Manage>VB Units.
• Select the instrument with a serial number that matches your vb instrument and click Delete. Click OK to confirm.
• Now click Send to re-send the folder.
• Ascent will prompt you to enter a description of your vb instrument. Click Yes to enter a description, type in some information for your instrument e.g. a name, then click OK to save this
